Six products I cannot live without

products-i-couldnt-live-without-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blog 1Liz Earle Eye Bright | £13.25 // I use this on a daily basis to remove my eye make-up and I couldn't be without it. I've reacted badly to a lot of other eye make-up removers which have caused my eczema to flare up. It's extremely gentle but effective at removing every last bit of eye make-up. It does struggle a little with waterproof eye liner but I find this with other micellar waters as well. For eye liners like Urban Decay 24/7 pencils I find a duo-phase works best. I've probably been through about twenty or more bottles over the years and I will buy it for as long as it is available.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads | £22 // I still can't believe how good these are and am happy that my sensitive skin hasn't reacted to them. I never thought I'd be able to use an acid exfoliator but these from FAB are gentle but effective. They're also a really good price at £22 for 60 pre-soaked pads. That's about 36p per pad which is pretty good. I use them once or twice a week so this tub will last me a good six months. My skin always feels and looks better after I use them and they could easily be used each day as part of your skin care routine without being too harsh.

John Masters Organics Scalp Deep Scalp Purifying Serum | £23 // I am currently without this at the moment and it is driving me crazy and I really need to make another order. I use this once a week on my scalp to help keep my eczema at bay. It's one of the few treatments that I can use and go out of the house once it has sunk in. It doesn't leave my hair looking greasy or full of product. It's a serum and feels very light in the hair. I tend to get someone else to apply it for me as it's a bit tricky doing it myself. I also love the mint scent although it does remind me a bit of the dentist.

Philip Kingsley Scalp Toner For Itchy/Flaky Scalps | £20 // This is what I use after I've washed my hair to keep my scalp from feeling tight and itchy. When I first started using it, I used it in between washes as well but now the eczema on my scalp is a bit more under control I am able to use it less often. The packaging isn't the best but I find the smaller bottle much easier to use. I buy the larger bottle and just decant it into this one. It's a water and once it dries, it's pretty much unnoticeable in the hair so it's another one I'll happily use any time. I feel like this is a huge part of how my scalp is now compared to how bad it used to be.

Philip Kingsley Exfoliating Scalp Mask | £8 // This mask on the other hand can only really be used just before you're about to wash your hair. To use it, you wet your hair and apply it all over and then let it sink in for about twenty minutes before you wash your hair as normal. When you use it, it doesn't feel like it's really doing anything but after a couple of uses you'll notice a difference in your scalp. I've used this for a good year or two now and I'll always have a tube to hand.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara | £13.50 // I have lost count of how many tubes of this mascara I have been through. It's the only mascara I use on my bottom lashes and I can't see myself trying any others. It lengthens without looking fake or too long and doesn't smudge.

  1. Thank you so much for introducing me to the Philip Kingsley toner - my eczema has been so much better since I finally bit the bullet and tried it! On my second large bottle now, though I am using the decanting method that you suggested x

  2. Nice selection you have there. I've wanted to try the Eye Bright for the longest time and I also have a thing for mascaras that work well on bottom lashes so might look into that one.

  3. Hi, nice blog :)
When I have eczema on my scalp I use a Johnsons baby shampoo that comes in a white bottle with a blue lid. It says double moisture or something like that. For me, relieves and conforts and it's cheap :) nice suggestions!I have to try Liz Earle. I'm sorry about my English.
