Instagram Favourites | 001

I have become slightly obsessed with Instagram, whether it’s posting my own photos or following others. Since I share my favourite blogs every now and again I thought I’d share a couple of Instagrammers I think you should all follow especially if you’re into your Lush like I am. I’ve found so many new accounts to follow when Kate posted her favourites on Nouvelle Daily so I hope you find a few as well in my round ups.
favourite-instagram-accounts-cupsoftea-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blogcupsofteas | Rene // The first photo I saw from Renée was one of her amazing bath shots and it inspired one of my Sunday Pamper photos. I really like the colour schemes she uses in her photos and I can’t make up my mind about those doll head candles, are they totally creepy or cool? I’ve decided I actually would like one. She uses a mix of different Lush products and I’m always keeping note of what she uses together for future baths.

favourite-instagram-accounts-afoxintheflowers-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blogafoxintheflowers | Canadian Lushie // Some of these photos are works of art – just look at the Karma Bath Melt dissolve in the purple water of the Karma Bubble Bar! And the photos of her face in the water are incredible! This is another feed that really inspires me and one I check daily to see if she has posted anything. If you’re interested in bath cocktails then this is the one to follow.

favourite-instagram-accounts-eire_in_to-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blogeire_in_to | Christine | Irish girl living in Toronto. Works in the bombs room at Toronto Lush Cosmetics Factory // I can’t remember how I discovered Christine’s Instagram feed, I think it was probably one of many scrolls through the Lush hastags that I came across her photos. Like the Kitchen’s Instagram, Christine gives a glimpse into what it’s like to work in a Lush factory and I love seeing how messy she gets with all the glitter or how they wash the tables they use to make the products. I also like to see what they get in the staff boxes from Lush! Just look at all those bath bombs lined up!

favourite-instagram-accounts-notbydesign-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blog
notbydesign | Stephen | Bubbles compounder for Lush Cosmetics Toronto // I found Stephen after I found Christine as I think they work in the same factory. His Instagram feed is similar in that you can see the bubble bars being made and all the processes.

favourite-instagram-accounts-lushkitchen-rottenotter-rotten-otter-bloglushkitchen | We're cooking up exclusive posts // How can I write about Instagram and Lush and not talk about the Lush Kitchen. Their Instagram feed is one of my all-time favourites as I’m just so interested in seeing how the products are made and who can resist an army of bubble bars or bath bombs. Their photos are so well taken and thought out and it’s nice to see the staff behind the Kitchen as well. I check their Instagram at 5pm every Sunday for the following weeks menu where I decide which products I want to buy. Usually it’s a case of which do I want more and whittling the list down from the whole lot to a couple of products.

1/4 Granny Takes A Dip Bubble Bar
1 Granny Takes A Dip Bath Bomb
1/2 Dragons Egg Bath Bomb
1/3 Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar

The Granny Takes A Dip Bath Bomb has just been available again from the Kitchen after being discontinued so I knew I had to try this cocktail. Since I have both the bath bomb and bubble bar I thought I'd use both although you could pick one. Since I did use two GTAD products, I couldn't really pick out or smell the lavender scent from the Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar which was disappointing. If I was going to try this one again I'd either just use the GTAD Bubble Bar or half of the GTAD Bath Bomb. Saying that though I really like the vanilla, pepper and ginger scent and it's quite unusual. What I did notice about this bath was how moisturising the water was so perfect for this time of year. I only have a small amount of Unicorn Horn left so I think I'll try French Kiss Bubble Bar as Jen suggested as it has a similar lavender scent.

All Lush bath cocktails can be found on Jens blog, All Things Lush. They have all been created by either Jen or her readers, I am simply testing them out and sharing on my own blog.

Empties | November 2015

empties-november-2015-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blog
Narciso Rodriguez For Her | £39 // I love this perfume and was sad to see it empty. I'm on a mission to use up what I have before buying anything new but I will buy another bottle of this at some point. It makes a nice autumn and winter perfume so I'll probably buy another bottle for next year.

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream | $65 // I really liked this moisturiser when I first started using it, but towards the end of the tub I just wasn't as wowed by it as I was originally. No matter how little I used, my skin was left feeling a bit too greasy for my liking and not in the oh this facial oil is working wonders on my skin way. I made sure I used every last bit of this though as it isn't cheap but I wouldn't buy it again. I want to try the Nourish moisturiser from KS but am a bit concerned I'll feel the same way about it.

Liz Earle Eye Bright | £13.25 // A staple in my skin care routine that I will always repurchase. I used the Garnier Micellar Water a few months ago which really irritated my eyes and my eczema flared up quite badly. I started using this again as it's so soothing on the skin but also works amazingly well as a make-up remover and my skin went back to normal pretty much straight away. I've carried on using it even though my eczema has gone simply because I like it so much. I tend to buy them in lots of three so I know I'll always have a bottle at hand. I still have one and a half bottles left to use before I need to repurchase.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara | £13 // This is another staple that I always repurchase. Although some may think it's a gimmick, I find the tiny brush so handy to coat my bottom lashes as normal mascara wands just make a mess. This doesn't smudge throughout the day like other mascaras do and I've already started using another one.

The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter | £14 // Towards the end of this tub the coconut scent became a bit too much and I was just sick of it. I have a few more body butters to use which have lighter more fruitier scents which I prefer and I don't think I'll be buying the coconut version any time soon.

A-Derma Exomega Cleansing Oil & Soothing Foaming Gel | £10 & £7.50 // I was quite disappointed by both of these as they have such a strong scent which isn't particularly nice and isn't the best thing to use when my eczema is flaring up and that was the whole reason why I bought them. I thought the formulas were ok but nothing special and I think I'll stick with the moisturisers from A-Derma rather than the bath products.

Lush Elixir Bath Melt // I have fallen in love with this bath melt and unfortunately it is not part of the permanent collection from Lush. It was released as a one off from the Kitchen and I am hoping it'll be brought back soon. Luckily I still have another one to use which I am going to cut into two so I can get more uses out of it. The scent is a mix of ginger, cardamom, ylang ylang and rose.

Lush Frozen Bath Bomb | £3.95 // The grapefruit, neroli and rose scent isn't what I think of when I think of Frozen but it's still lovely and I'll be buying another one when I'm next in Lush.

Lush Skydancer Bath Bomb | £3.95 // This is one of the charity products and I always make sure I buy one when Lush release them. Skydancer has been around for a while now so I don't know if it's become a permanent product but I'm not complaining as I love the cinnamon, bergamot, lemon and licorice scent.

Lush Dragons Egg Bath Bomb | £3.50 // This bath bomb looks quite plain from the outside but has a few surprises inside. The scent is lemon, bargamot and jasmine.

Lush Twilight Bath Bomb | £3.50 // This is one of my all time favourites and will keep on buying it until it's no longer available. I love the malt and lavender scent and find it so relaxing.

Lush Phuket Bath Bomb // This was a limited edition product from The Kitchen and no longer available although I do have two more still to use. It has a fruity coconut scent which reminds me of a cocktail.

Lush Yoga Bath Bomb | £3.95 // I was a little bit disappointed with this bath bomb as it smelt nice but wasn't very impressive in the bath. It's plain orange on the outside and I was hoping and expecting there to be lots of different colours in the middle once it starts to fizz away but there just wasn't. I'm glad I've tried it but I won't be rushing out to buy more.

Lush Guardians Of The Forest Bath Bomb | £3.95 // I didn't like the scent of this one when I got it and wasn't sure if I was going to use it or pass it onto my mum. I decided to try it in a cocktail along with a bath melt and bubble bar and once in the water, the scent really changes. I actually loved it and was impressed with how the water looked as the bath bomb fizzed away. I will be buying another one when I'm next in Lush.

Aesop Geranium Leaf Body Scrub | £25 // I got this body scrub in a gift set containing two other Geranium Leaf products. I really loved this body scrub and the only negative thing I can say is that I finished it and am left with half of the shower gel and body butter to go. Not a huge deal as I'll still use them, but I like to use all the same scents together if I can. Ignoring that though this is a great body scrub. The exfoliating particles are pumice and bamboo shoots so it's abrasive enough that it gets rid of dry patches, but doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. I also liked that it had a gel like consistency and slightly lathered. Once I rinsed away my skin was left feeling moisturised thanks to the geranium leaf oil as well as mandarin and bergamot oils. I'd buy it again, but since it is pricey for a body scrub I'd either buy it as a treat or ask for it as a present.

Aveda Scalp Remedy Dandruff Solution | £18.70 // I felt like this did nothing to my scalp despite reading others rave about it. You use this spray directly on to your scalp and then massage in and can be used on wet or dry hair. Again I will stick with using another Philip Kingsley product, the Flaky/Itchy Scalp Toner.

Phyto Phytoneutre Clarifying Detox Shampoo | £12.50 // I really liked this clarifying shampoo although I did go through it quite quickly so although the price looks like a bargain, it works out more expensive than the Bumble And Bumble Sunday Shampoo I'm currently using. I will buy another tube again though as it made my hair feel great without stripping it. I also loved the mint scent.

Naked Care Neroli And Cotton Seed Gentle Conditioner // This conditioner is one of my favourites and sadly has been discontinued and the brand is no longer. I still have a couple more tubes from when they were £1 each from Boots. Once those are finished I have no idea which conditioner I'll use next. This doesn't irritate my eczema but keeps my hair feeling soft.

Phyto Phytokeratine Ultra-repairing Mask | £24.50 // I liked this hair mask but I can't say it impressed me as much as I was hoping it would. I'm happy I tried it but I much prefer Philip Kingsley Elasticizer and will happily carry on using it.

Skin Care Diary | November 2015

Throughout each month, I'll be keeping a skin care diary and jotting down what I use on a daily basis. At the end of the month, I'll tally up what has been used the most and share the products with you. I have combination skin that can change between being extremely dry, spot prone, oily and sensitive as well as having eczema flare ups.
skin-care-diary-routine-november-2015-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blog

This months skin care routine is very much like last months, just with a few travel sizes thrown in from when I was away at the start of the month. I'm still loving all the products I am using and they're working well at keeping my skin under control. Not much to report really! My skin has had a few issues with eczmea towards the end of the month as the weather is getting colder and we've had the heating on more but nothing that the A-Derma cream couldn't handle.

Favourites | November 2015

favourites-november-2015-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blog
Lyons Leaf Calendula Cream | £8.99 // I am forever searching for products that I can use on my eczema that are more natural and gives me a chance to have a break from using steroid creams. I've used products contain calendula in the past, mainly from Weleda, and it's an ingredient that my skin loves and gets on well with especially my eczema so I knew I had to try this. So far this balm is working how I hoped it would and I'm really loving it. I'm sure I'll write a full review of it at some point or include it in my next eczema products blog post.

Elie Saab Le Parfum | £38 - £58 // I finished the full size of this perfume six months or so ago and completely forgot I had this mini bottle until I had a sort out and tidy of my perfume basket. I love this perfume and it's one I get a lot of compliments on when I wear it and those "what perfume are you wearing?" questions. I really missed the scent and since I'm on a no buy until I use up what I have I couldn't buy a new bottle so discovering this handbag sized bottle feels like I've shopped, when I haven't! I know this bottle isn't going to last long so I'm going to save it for the weekends and carry on wearing Stella during the week at work.

Sebastian Professional Potion 9 | £24 // I bought a bottle of Potion 9 after Meg raved about it and I was going through a stage of absolutely hating my hair. Although I'm not 100% happy with my hair, I don't hate it as much as I did and it's partly down to this. It helps to enhance my natural curls without feeling sticky or crunchy but it also helps to tame frizz. My hair always feels so much softer when I use Potion 9 and I love the scent of it as well. I bought the mini tube to start off with as I wasn't sure how I was going to get on with it but I will definitely be buying the full size once it's empty.

Lush The Magic Of Christmas Reusable Bubble Bar | £5.95 // This is one of my favourites from this years Christmas collection and I almost wanted to buy ten of them so I'll never be without. At least I'll definitely be buying one more in the Boxing day sales! It's a reusable bubble bar so I find I get so many more uses out of it than I do with the bubble bars you crumble up. You simply run the wand under running water until you have the desired amount of bubbles and then leave to dry out on the side of the bath until you next need it. I love the cinnamon, almond and orange scent which also has a hint of clove and star anise.

The Happniess List 003

the-happiness-list-rottneotter-rotten-otter-blog
001 Still thinking about our yearly weekend away with all the family that happened the other weekend. Nothing better than a long weekend with good food and good company!

002 Getting in a food making rut and then having a browse on Pinterest and finding a lot of new exciting recipes to try.

003 Sitting inside while it’s raining with the fire on, a hot chocolate and Netflix.

004 Gossip Girl and Heroes on Netflix. Needless to say I haven’t been very productive with these two favourites being readily available and I’ve started watching them both from the beginning. I’ve watched Gossip Girl all the way through several times but this is the first I’ve rewatched Heroes. Everything is happening a lot sooner than I remembered. I’m on episode eight I think and already they’ve saved the cheerleader. I thought this happened near the very end of season one and I cannot remember what happens in the other three seasons. It’s exciting though as it almost feels like I’m watching it again for the first time.

005 Finding the perfect nude nail polish for my skin tone. I’ve blogged about it here.

006 Buying a pair of boots that I love and actually fit. I hate shoe shopping as having wide feet means more often than not, shoes I like just don’t fit.

007 A new jumper that I just cannot stop wearing. It’s navy blue with white polka dots and sort of reminds me of a Christmas jumper. I will still happily wear it all year round though.

008 Discovering a good book even if it is a giant hardback that weighs a ton and feels like it’s breaking my shoulder when I drag it to and from work in my bag everyday.

009 Lemsip. The only way I got through work this week. Which leads me onto …

010 Finally having a good night sleep after a week of a horrible cold and waking up what felt like every thirty minutes with a coughing fit. Also being able to sleep actually lying down! There were a few days I had to sleep with four pillows practically sitting up as I couldn’t breathe properly and it was not comfy!

Lush Samples | Part One

lush-samples-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blog 1 lush-samples-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blog 2
Years ago there was an option when ordering from Lush to add a note to who was going to put together your order and this is where you could request samples. After a revamp of their website they removed this and replaced it with a note for delivery. I took this as the place to say if you wanted it left with a neighbour if you were out or in a safe place. There is also a section for if it is a gift and you want to add a message to the receiver. I had no idea you could request samples in these two boxes so went a good year or two with no samples before I discovered this while having a browse of Instagram. Since discovering this I have requested samples with every order, usually using the gift box option as you can write more. I have received some amazing samples by doing this so thought I'd share in case you're missing out like I was.

I tend to leave it as a surprise as to what I get by just asking for samples but I have requested one or two specifically for my mum and have gotten really generous sizes. If there's anything you really want to try before buying then it's worth asking for a sample! My mum wanted to try Reindeer Rock Soap as she wanted to know how moisturising it was before buying the full size and she probably received a good 1/4 size chunk of the full size soap! Also look at the size of the shampoo bar in the first photo, it's also a quarter of the size you'd buy in the shop and I got it for free.

By being able to try them out before buying the full sizes I'm actually saving myself money as well. There's a few of the soaps I had on my to try list but found them to be a bit drying on my skin when I've tried the samples so they've been taken off my list. Also the dry shampoo, I'm happy I've tried it but it's just a bit too messy for me and I prefer spray versions.

Do you ask for samples from Lush?

Lush Favourites 002

lush-favourites-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blog 2
Lush Dirty Springwash Shower Gel | £4.95 - £27.95 // If you need a wake me up scent then this is it! The spearmint and menthol scent with a hint of thyme is perfect to use after the gym or in your morning shower. I also love the colour of this one as it's so bright!

Ceridwens Cauldron Bath Melt | £4.35 // If you suffer with dry skin in the winter then you need to try the bath melts, this one in particular as I find it the most moisturising. A bath melt is basically a sold oil that melts once added to your bath. This one also has oats in it so the bag can be used as a body scrub once it has melted. The oats are also really good for soothing eczema so I always make sure I have one of these in my cupboard. It's quite big so you could open the bag and cut it in half to get two baths out of it. Just simply tie the bag back up after you've cut it and then empty it out and leave it to dry once you're finished so you can re-use it. I love the frankincense, rose and sandalwood scent of this one as the three scents go so well together.

Dreamtime Bath Melt | £3.35 // Although slightly less moisturising, and I mean only slightly, Dreamtime is the perfect thing to use to de-stress. Just grab a good book and relax and you'll fall straight to sleep once you get into bed. I think this one has been reformulated and redesigned so I can only comment on the old version. I will be buying the new version along with a few other new bath oils and I only hope it's just as good! I'm sure I'll be writing a post about them.

Pop In The Bath Bubble Bar | £3.25 // This has a very similar scent as The Olive Branch Shower Gel and it's one of my favourites. I love using the two together and I hope TOB Body Lotion is brought to The Kitchen at some point. It's a mix of bergamot, lemon and refreshing mandarin. This has changed colours over the years and I think I preferred when it had a cream base and then a coloured flower on top but it still smells the same. I can usually get about four baths out of this one which makes it a pretty good price.

Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb | £3.95 // This is a new favourite as it was only released during the summer but I fell in love with the scent as soon as I smelt it. It has a peppermint scent which is quite unusual for Lush although I love pairing it with Dirty Springwash Shower Gel or Freeze Shower Gel. The colours that come out of this bath bomb are just incredible and it's a real show-stopper to watch. It really does look like staring up into the milky way! There's also popping candy and shimmer. Along with the peppermint, it also has hints of grapefruit, cedarwood and vetivert.

Twilight Bath Bomb | £3.35 // This is an old favourite and I love the malt lavender scent. I really wish they'd bring back the Twilight shower gel permanently or that I'd bought more than one bottle when it was last available to buy. This is a good one to use just before bed or feeling tense as it's such a relaxing scent.

Favourite Layering Nail Polishes

OPI Comet In The Sky | Orly RIP | Orly Watch It Glitter | Orly Go Deeper | OPI I Juggle Men | OPI I'll Tinsel You In | Essie Pinking About You | OPI I Lily Love You | Essie A Cut Above | Essie Summit Of Style | Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure

Although I am a huge nail polish addict fan, I don't really like glitter nail polishes and usually wear a crème finish. I do have a select few that I absolutely love though and thought I'd share them. I also tend to only wear these polishes in the Autumn or winter so now is perfect timing.
I wear a base colour under all of these, usually black or a light pastel shade, as I find removal much easier and the glitters stand out better than if painted on their own. Out of them all Orly Go Deeper is my favourite as the blue-green glitter looks incredibly over black.

What's your favourite glitter nail polish?

Mini Reviews 055 | Lush 004

shopping-lush-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blog 5
Candy Floss Showder | £12.50 // I really like the idea of this new product from Lush, but the packaging just does not work. First of all it's cardboard so what's going to happen when your in the bath, you've got wet hands and you need to pour it so you can use it. Also the powder inside is going to get clumpy if it gets damp as it's not completely sealed. When I went to pour it into may hands too much came out at once so I ended up wasting quite a lot. In the end I decided to decant it into another empty container which made it a lot easier to use. Onto the actual product, it smells amazing and reminds me of Snow Fairy. The powder gently exfoliates the skin and if you mix it with a little bit of water it creates a sort of shower cream. I enjoyed using it, but it is quite expensive and now I've tried it I probably wouldn't buy it again.

Sonic Death Monkey Shower Gel // I've been a huge fan of Lush for such a long time, but I have never tried nor smelt Sonic Death Monkey. I have heard so many people rave about it though so when I saw the shower gel available in the Kitchen I had to order a bottle. The scent is chocolate and coffee with quite a strong hit of orange. It's a bit of a crazy combination, but it works so well. It contains hemp oil and you can smell this quite strongly which I don't really like. I think it would smell much better if this was more subtle. I am really happy I managed to grab a bottle though!

The Comforter Shower Cream | £4.75 - £27.50 // I was really excited to see that The Comforter Bubble Bar was being made into a shower cream. This smells exactly like the bubble bar and it is amazing. I love the incredibly sweet blackberry scent and the shower cream formula means it's extremely moisturising. I can't wait to use both of them together.

Pink Flamingo Reusable Bubble Bar | £5.95 // I love the reusable bubble bars as I feel like I can get even more uses out of them compared to the normal bubble bars. This has a cocktail inspired scent of rosewood, ylang ylang and bergamot. Also the design is just really cute.

13 Rabbits Bath Melt // This is another Kitchen buy and has a very similar scent to SDM. This one is a mix of chocolate and ginger and other spices. I can already tell this isn't going to be a pretty one in the bath, but I know it's going to be incredibly moisturising. I usually cut the bath melts in half so I can get two uses out of them.

I Brake For Manicures

Once on the nails, I Brake For Manicures looks pretty much black but it's actually a very dark purple which has a hint of brown to it. I like the colour in the bottle but once it's on the nails, I think I'd rather just wear a black nail polish. Google the nail polish and each swatch looks completely different! I also struggled with the light when trying to take a photo so it's not the best I could have done but I didn't want to miss having a post today.

The first coat was a streaky mess but luckily the second completely evened it all out. It also has a very glossy finish and this photo was taken before I'd even applied a top coat.

Lush Christmas 2015 | Part One

lush-christmas-2015-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blog 4
Peeping Santa Bubble Bar | £3.95 // This is a new addition to the Christmas collection this year and it has quickly turned into one of my all time favourites. It shares its scent with Yummy Mummy Shower Gel and Magic Mushroom Bubble Bar which are two other favourites that are only released occasionally. It's quite a sweet strawberry scent along with bergamot and geranium. It's packed full of shea butter and various oils so it's incredibly moisturising. It also looks pretty cute too! This is one of the ones I'm going to make sure I stock up on in the sales. It's a really good size bubble bar and I can get four baths out of it.

Cinders Bath Bomb | £2.95 // This is brought back each year and the scent just reminds me of Christmas. Cinders is one of the smaller sized bath bombs which I actually prefer as I don't feel like I'm wasting it all since you only get one use. My bath is also smaller than average so this size is perfect for me and I wish all the bath bombs were this size. I also love the popping candy although sometimes it's a little hard to hear after I've had the water running to fill up the tub.

So White Bath Bomb | £3.65 // So White is another old Christmas classic and has the most beautiful apple scent which you don't really find in bath products. This is one of the more moisturising bath bombs and despite it looking pretty plain from the outside, it's a nice one to watch fizz away and see what colour the water turns.

Five Gold Rings Bubble Bar | £4.95 // This one is slightly more expensive than the usual bubble bars but I think that if you squished the five rings together then the bubble bar would be a similar size to The Comforter which is the same price. I absolutely love the vanilla and moringa scent of this one although it's not a particularly Christmas-sy scent. Be Warned the glitter gets everywhere but it's only on the outside.

Snow Angel Bath Melt | £3.95 // Snow Angel is described as a bath melt but I think it's more of a bath bomb that is slightly more moisturising than normal. It doesn't melt in your hands like the other bath melts do and it fizzes away pretty quickly. This has a lovely marzipan scent with a hint of rose, benzoin and cassie absolute. The scent reminds me of Snowcake Soap which I haven't bought this year as I'm still using last years!

Yog Nog Bath Bomb | £3.95 // When I saw the list of products in this years Christmas range I was so excited to see a bath bomb version of my favourite soap, Yog Nog. The smoky caramle scent of this is incredible and it's so strong. I don't know if it's just the ones I ordered but they're quite crumbly and soft so I've been able to cut the bath bomb into four and get even more uses out of it. Since the scent is so strong anyway and is incredibly moisturising, I haven't felt like I was missing out on anything by using small pieces. This is another one I will be stocking up on!

The Magic Of Christmas Reusable Bubble Bar | £5.95 // I've said this a lot in this post, but this is another absolute favourite! I can't even begin to say how much I like the scent and I'm tempted to buy as many as I can in fear that it might not be brought back next year. At the moment I have resisted but come Boxing Day sale, it might be another story! I also find I can get so many more baths out of these reusable bubble bars than the normal ones. The scent is a mix of cinnamon, clove, almond and orange.

Salt And Peppermint Bark Body Scrub | £5.95 // Repeating myself again but this is another favourite! I love anything peppermint scented so knew I'd like this one. Although I'm not a huge fan of these body scrub bars, the scent totally makes up for this! As long as you don't get it too wet, it wont dissolve into nothing straight away like you think it might.

Celebrate Body Lotion | £12.95 // This body lotion isn't a new product but I've never tried it before. It's in quite a few of the Lush cocktails I want to try so I added it to my order. The main scent is citrus, a mix of orange and lime with a splash of cognac.

Snowman Shower Jelly | £3.95 // I love how this is in the shape of a snowman! It was pretty hard to show in a photo so I kept it in the tub. This has the same scent as the Snowman Fun and is a mix of buchu, lemon and bergamot. It's a nice refreshing scent that I like to use in the mornings.

Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb | £3.65 // I love the design of this bath bomb and it creates the most beautiful patterns in the water as it fizzes away. The scent is orange and bergamot and is another one I'm going to stock up on.

Christingle Body Conditioner | £16.50 // I love the body conditioners from Lush as I hate applying body lotion. I love the peppermint, spearmint, grapefruit and menthol scent and it really does tingle when you use it. You use this just like you do a hair conditioner, it's the last step before you get out of the bath or shower. Apply a layer all over the body and rinse away and your skin is left feeling incredibly soft.

Star Dust Bath Bomb | £2.95 // This one is one of the more plainer bath bombs from Lush and one that you'd probably miss in store among all the others that look amazing. It has a really nice vanilla and rose scent though and there's a surprise one it's added to the bath.

The Autumn Edit | 2015

OPI Did You Ear About Van Gough | OPI I Sao Paulo Over There | OPI Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI? | Diptyque Figuire Candle | Orly RIP | Lush Five Gold Rings Bubble Bar | Lush Bar Humbug Bubble Bar | Diptyque Tam Dao Perfume | Oskia Renaissance Mask | Our Tiny Bees Uber Balm | Mac Plumful Lipstick | Fresh Sugar Plum Lip Balm | By Terry Baume De Rose.

I absolutely love this time of year! I love everything from the trees changing colours and the leaves falling to drinking chai lattes in the mornings, the spicy scents that are released from Lush and wearing a berry lip colour. Tam Dao from Diptyque smells like Autumn in a bottle to me and I always love wearing it this time of year.

I always pull out Orly's RIP Nail Polish for Halloween as given the name, it's a must! The orange glitter reminds me of tiny pumpkins and it looks like you've done a bit of nail art.

My skin gets drier as the months get coulder so instead of a normal hand cream, I use a balm to stop my hands cracking. I've been loving this balm from Our Tiny Bees as it only contains seven ingredients so is perfect for my sensitive skin. For my face I've been using this mini pot of the Renaissance Mask from Oskia. If you like the cleanser then you'll love this mask. It helps to keep my skin from flaking and then I follow up with an oil from even more moisture.

What are your must haves for this time of year?

French Quarter For Your Thoughts

I love grey nail polishes and even though they don't always suit my skin tone, I always enjoy wearing them. French Quarter For Your Thoughts has more blue in it than Suzi Takes The Wheel.

Application

While I love the shade, the formula of  French Quarter For Your Thoughts is not great. It seperates if you don't use it for a while and is also very thin and watery. This might be because the collection was released in 2011 but I've had other polishes for longer than four years and they've been ok.

Travel Beauty | Cat Sitting

I am currently house sitting for a family friend and looking after their crazy cat. This is coming from someone who has their own crazy cat at home, and this little one has a big personality. He likes to run around the house at full speed just as I'm about to fall asleep and then ran and jump on the bed so he can go to sleep as well. He also likes to nibble toes and loves to play with a rolled up ball of paper. I'm having fun though and it's nice to look after another cat. Here's what I have packed with me. A few more full size products than what I posted last week as I'm here for a week and don't want to run out of anything.

Mini Reviews 054 | Lush 003

shopping-lush-rottenotter-rotten-otter-blog 4
Yuzu And Cocoa Moisturising Shower Cream | £4.75 - £27.50 // Just look at the colour of it! This shower cream has the same scent as the Yuzu And Cocoa Bubbleroon. It's a sweet mix of citrus, cocoa and tonka that almost smells like chocolate orange. These shower creams are even more moisturising than the standard shower gels and it's nice to see them brought out more often. I've no idea if this is a limited edition product or if it's now part of the original collection although it has been out for a while now.

Snowcake Shower Gel // Snowcake Shower Gel was available from the Kitchen and only in stock for a couple of days. It was a complete coincidence that it was available when I was already going to make an order so I just had to add it to my basket. Only one size was available, but I would have bought a bigger bottle if I could. The Snowcake Soap that is released nearly every Christmas is one of my favourite Lush products and I always buy one. If it's even possible, I think this shower gels smells even better than the soap! Lush really need to make this permanent. It's smells of almonds and is just amazing. If it comes back to the Kitchen then you need to buy a bottle.

Skydancer - Far From The Madding Guns Bath Bomb | £3.95 // Profits from each and every one of these soft floral and liquorice-scented bath bombs will help fund equipment to satellite tag many endangered hen harrier chicks born in the coming years. I always like to buy the charity items from Lush as not only are you supporting a good cause, but you are also getting something to use at the same time. I also love that this has a liquorice scent, one of my favourites, mixed with bergamot, lemon and cinnamon.

Milky Bar Bubble Bar | £3.75 // I love the simple design of this bubble bar and it's really moisturising. It has quite a subtle scent with a hint of lemon. It's nice to have something a little more subtle compared to some other Lush products.

A-Taupe The Space Needle

I normally like these murky brown shades of nail polish but A-Taupe The Space Needle is a bit too brown for my skin tone. If it had a hint more grey to it than green, I think it would have looked better.

Application

The formula for this polish is ok although it did need three coats to become opaque.
