I've never really been a fan of solid perfumes as I always found them a bit of a faff to apply. You can only really apply them to skin and I like to spray my perfume on my clothes as well as I find the scent lasts longer this way. That is until this little stick perfume was part of a gift with purchase from Cult Beauty and it has completely changed my opinion.
The scent Zazou, housed in pretty floral cardboard packaging, is completely different to what I normally go for when it comes to perfumes. I'm not a huge floral fan but for some reason I fell in love with this as soon as I smelt it. As soon as you apply it the lemon and grapefruit notes are the strongest but as it sinks into your skin the neroli appears. There's also a hint of musk/wood which is what I like in a perfume and tend to gravitate towards. What surprised me most is how long the scent lasts on the skin. Although it tones down a bit as the hours go by, I can still smell it later on in the day after I've applied it in the morning.
When you're applying the perfume it feels more like balm rather than a perfume thanks to the shea butter base and feels very moisturising on the skin. I can see myself buying a couple more tubes and building a small collection of these solid perfumes! I'd like to smell all the different varieties so I can find one that is similar to the majority of perfumes I already own and then keep it in my bag as a top up throughout the day. They're £20 each and available from Cult Beauty.
Lily wrote a post about these solid perfumes last year and has included all the scent descriptions at the bottom if you want to have a look. It's easier than opening all of the pages on Cult Beauty and you can compare all the scents in one place.

Back in August 2012 I bought and stitched an Ampersand sign from the Shop At Number 57. The shop isn't open at the moment, due to flooding they've had to close for a bit, but once they've opened up again I urge you to have a look at their shop and patterns if you're into cross stitch.
Ever since I finished the first one I knew I wanted to reverse the colours and have them hanging below each other above my desk. While I'm not completely happy with black on white version, you can see the white fabric between the black stitches, I am really happy with how it looks and the effect it gives.

L'Occitane Divine Cream | £4 // Q The Fine Fragrance Body Spray in Balance | £1 // Therapie Himalayan Bath Salts | £4.
Today I'm sharing some more luxury samples I picked up from Latest In Beauty. You can see the first lot here. LIB is such a great place to discover new products or try out those you've been thinking about but haven't wanted to buy the full size.
I ordered another packet of the Therapie bath salts as they're my favourite and it still works out cheaper than buying another refill pack. I bought a different scent of body spray from Q a few weeks ago in Boots and really like it so I added a different scent to my basket. Balance is more of a floral scent and is a mix of iris and mimosa. Plus it's only £1 whereas it's about £3 in Boots. Finally the cutest little tub of L'Occitanes Divine Cream. My mum has the lotion and really likes it so thought I'd try the cream version.

For some reason the compartment that holds all my base products has also turned into a I'll just put all these products here as I don't really know where else to keep them place. Instead of the usual foundations, concealers and powders you'd expect to find here I also had face wipes, sun tan lotion, moisturiser samples and receipts which are tucked out of shot. I have now moved them all to their correct homes and am able to see everything I own. I also moved all my concealers to a different compartment so it looked less cluttered. If I can't see a product then I'm less likely to use it.

Mango // Pomegranate // Quince // Guava // Jasmine // Wild Rose | £8.
Over the past few years I've built up my collection of Korres Lip Butters and I finally completed the collection by ordering Mango, as raved about by Sophie. Intentionally I lined the six up in colour order but unintentionally I've actually placed them in the order I bought them. Mango is the lastest edition and Wild Rose was the one to start my obsession.
Out of the six my most used is without a doubt Jasmine. It gives a slight hint of pink to the lips which makes the perfect swipe across the lips and run out the door product. Despite hating the scent of jasmine, this smells amazing and more like
Guava is the only one that doesn't leave a coloured tint to your lips so this is the one I reach for at night or during the day if I don't want to wear a lip colour. They're all incredibly moisturising and each colour has the same formula, there isn't one that is slightly drying. They also feel really light on your lips, almost like you're not wearing anything.
On the lips Quince is more of a hint of raspberry unlike the bright pink it looks like in the pot and Pomegranate is more of a my lips but better colour. I can tell Mango is going to be my favourite over the next few months as it gives a subtle tint of orange/coral as I can't always pull off bright orange lips. Wild Rose is my go to in Autumn and Winter, especially when I need something a bit more moisturising than your average lipstick.
I believe there is a plum lip butter but I am yet to find this available in the UK. If you know where I can buy it then please let me know!

Despite waking up at 6.30am for some unknown reason I am now catching up on youtube videos in bed with the cat and have the day off from work. Today will consist of going for breakfast with my mum and then heading off to Ikea, it's become a little tradition over the past couple of years, then I'm going for a meal with everyone from work.
I nice little perk of it being my Birthday is gifts with orders. From Space NK I got a mini little pot of a Perricone MD moisturiser and I'm about to order my Make-up Forever gift from Sephora. Also a Happy Birthday from google!

Nailgirls 3-in-1 Base/Topcoat & Nail Strengthener | £13.50// I currently have gel on my nails so I haven't had a chance to try this out yet but will do once I apply normal nail polish again. The other 3 in 1 nail polishes I've tried haven't been that great as I feel like a base coat is totally different formula to a top coat that you really need to use separate products. Lets hope this product changes my mind though!
Teeez Trend Cosmetics Beautiful Flat Stiff Brush | €19 // I love the packaging of this brush! Rose gold and a cute pattern, wish all my brushes were like this.
L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara | £10.99 // I can't for the life of me remember if I've tried this mascara before or not. It couldn't have come at a better time though as I just opened the Miss Manga mascara and hated it so needed a different one to use. This has a plastic wand which is what I prefer and I really like how it makes my lashes look.
So Susan Cosmetics Concealer Quad | £20 // So Susan products have been included in quite a few Glossyboxes now. Some I've liked and others I haven't and unfortunately this is one of those that I just can't use. I have very pale skin and the colours in this concealer just will not work. Not wanting to use it in case I pass it onto a friend I can't even comment on the consistency and how they work.
Rituals Qi Gong Spray | £3.50 // Rituals is a brand I'm slowly trying more products from so pleased to get another product from them. It smells really nice so I'll probably use it as an anti-perspirant/body spray while working out.
June's Birchbox theme is Global Strikers inspired by the World Cup. FYI I'm supporting Netherlands as that's the team I drew for works sweepstake. Comparing my box to other peoples I think it could have been better, I really wanted to try the Beauty Blender and the solid soap/cleanser. If I'm just focusing on what I got in my own box then I'm pretty happy as I know I'll use everything in it.
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre | £12.99 // I already have the full size and really like it but this is a great way to try it out first. I will be saving this mini tube for my travel bag as it's sealed and will last a while.
Silk + Honey Shea Butter Hair Mask | £55 full DIY set// This was what I was most excited about after having a look at the spoiler and other peoples boxes. Silk + Honey is a new brand that sells all the ingredients you need to make a product but seperate so you can have the fun of mixing it all together your self. I know it probably would have been too expensive to include but I wish I could have made this hair mask myself. Nevertheless I'm looking forward to giving this a go.
OPI Nail Polish in AmazON AmazOff | £11.95 // This looks like a creme polish in the bottle but while I was googling the name of this polish I discovered that it actually has a shimmer finish. This was a little disappointing as I'm not a fan of shimmer polishes but it does look very subtle. There are a couple of other colours I would have preferred but I'm pretty happy with this green colour.
Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick in Rouge Groseille | £9.90 // As the name suggests I thought this would be a very sheer lipstick but just from looking at the lipstick in the tube I knew this would not be the case. It is sheerer than a matte bold lipstick but it's still very pigmented and can be layered to look very bold and impressive. I really like Yves Rocher lipsticks and am happy to add another one to my collection.
Naobay Body Radiance Lotion | £14 // I'm pretty sure I've tried products from Naobay before but I can't for the life of me think what it was. This is a nice standard body lotion that I will be saving for my travel bag as well. I am a bit fed up of receiving body lotions in my beauty boxes at the moment, it seems like a get a new one each month and never get round to using them as I have full size products I need to use first.
Birchbox Brazil-Inspired Keyring // A cute little bonus!
Birchbox is £10 + £2.95 postage per month.
