A bit of a different post from me today but something I've wanted to do for a while. I've loved James' outfit photos for as long as I've been reading her blog, everything from what she wears to how she photographs the outfits. Although I probably wont be featuring in the posts myself for a while, I just don't have the confidence at the moment, I would like to share more what I'm wearing.
Somehow in the past couple months I have started to like wearing jeans. As a teenager I never wore jeans and have probably only owned four pairs in my lifetime, excluding what I wore as a kid as I can't remember.
At the moment ASOS is the place I find the best fitting jeans and the free returns means I can try as many different sizes and styles as I like. With the most recent jeans I bought, pictured, I actually fitted into the smaller size that I bought. It made me feel really happy and that the healthier choices I've been making lately is actually making a difference.
Technically I'm not wearing the shoes I've photographed as I'm sending them back but I'm on the hunt for the perfect loafer/moccasin. I like the look of these, I could give or take the tassels though, but they just don't fit right. Anyone have any recommendations on where I could find a pair?

Need to use up more samples! // Tray of treasures // Bringing back the nail polish display // Making Mothers day card // The aftermath // Goodbye old laptop stickers!

Mitchell & Peach English Flowers Body Cream // The scent is described as if you've taken a walk in the English countryside but to me, it's a very very subtle scent and one I can't pin point what it is. I'll be keeping this in my sample travel bag as it's the perfect size to take on holiday.
Dove Intensive Repair 60 Second Treatment Shot // I've tried the Tresemme version and really liked it so I'm sure I'll love this one from dove as well.
Sleek Pout Polish in Bare Minimum // I've had one of the pout polishes before but a bright orange colour. I'm happy with the nude colour as it isn't too pigmented and perfect for those no make-up days. I also love the vanilla scent they have, reminds me of Mac lipsticks.
Bellapierre Shimmer Eyeshadow in Beige // I'm not normally a fan of loose eyeshadows as they're incredibly messy, especially the shimmer versions, and you're more likely to get fall out when using them. Saying that though, it's a lovely champagne colour so I'm sure I'll give it a go.
Juicy Couture Malibu & Couture La La Malibu Perfumes // These are a new release from Juicy Couture. I prefer the orange version - whimsical pink passion fruit merges with fresh sparkling jasmine, creating a radiant and enticing fragrance that captures the easy style of Malibu. Courute La La Malibu - sparkling mandarin notes are highlighted with sweet pink sugar, creating a radiant fragrance that captures the casual-luxe spirit of Los Angeles.

Essie Splash Of Grenadine // two coats
Essie's Splash Of Grenadine is one of my favourite nail polishes to wear but for some reason I haven't blogged about it before. It's one of those polishes that everyone asks what you're wearing and compliments the colour. It's a bright pink-purple that still manages to be quite subtle. The formula is pretty much perfect as well! The diffusion line brush means you can paint your nails in one or two swipes and it only needs two coats for it to be opaque.

Origins Plantscription SPF25 Anti-Aging Cream - Although anti-aging isn't really a skin concern for me at the moment, I still enjoyed using this moisturiser. It sunk in easily despite the high SPF, felt nice on the skin and was moisturising but still felt light. If I wanted an anti-aging cream then I would think about buying this one for a daily moisturiser.
Cartier Goutte De Rose Perfume - I couldn't finish this sample as I really didn't like the scent. As the name suggests, it's a very floral scent which I'm not a fan of. I do like floral perfumes but they have to be mixed with other notes.
Yin Yang Rich Skin Food - I wasn't that impressed with this face moisturiser. From the name I thought it could be similar to the Weleda Skin Food but it's no where near as moisturising. I wouldn't buy the full size.
Ahava Purifying Mud Mask - I really enjoyed using this mud mask and as I only use it on my t-zone this small tube lasted a really long time. I used it once a fortnight, usually on a Sunday evening, and it helps to get rid of black heads and clears the skin. I'm currently using a small tube of the Liz Earle version but once I finish that I'll probably buy the full size of this.
Redken Real Control Conditioner - I really enjoyed using this conditioner and I will definitely be buying a full size bottle at some point. Designed for dry hair this is perfect for my hair and although I usually prefer deep conditioners, this was incredibly nourishing despite having a thinner texture.
Lush Charity Pot Hand & Body Lotion - I always like to get these mini pots from Lush as the £1 you spend goes to charity plus it gives you the chance to try it out before buying the full size. I used this as a hand cream and it was really nice. It smells of chocolate and almost good enough to eat.

I was writing a beauty box post last month and it got me thinking of the products I've bought after trying a sample size from a box. I thought there wouldn't be that many products but I turned out to be wrong! A lot of these products have become all time favourites and I probably wouldn't have tried them if they weren't included in a beauty box.
Everyone says how much they hate getting perfume samples in beauty boxes but I'm probably one of the few that actually like it. As you can see I've bought four different perfumes after trying samples of them in boxes. My current favourite is Elie Saab which I have a post about coming up next week.
Skin care products is probably the category from beauty boxes that I would skip as I have such sensitive skin and I don't like to try out any old product. They're also the one category of products that you need to actually use for a few weeks to see if the product suits your skin and more often than not you don't get enough product in the sample. Saying that though I have discovered two cleansing balms that have both become favourites a long with an oil, serum and cleansing water.
The only product I technically haven't gone out and bought the full size of is the KMS Wave Foam but this is simply because I'm still working my way through the bottle. Once this is empty and I've completed my spending ban, I will be ordering the full size. This is probably my favourite discovery out of them all as I know I never would have tried it as I don't tend to like hair mouse but this works amazingly well at defining the curl in my hair.
Which products have you gone out and bought after trying in a beauty box?
RMK Rose Cleansing Balm // Balance Me Radiance Face Oil // Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum // Laura Mercier Body Souffle // Lady Gaga Perfume // KMS California Curl Up Wave Foam // Elle Saab Perfume // Nip+Fab Pistachio Sundae Body Butter // Bioderma Micellar Solution // Yu-Be Skin Care // Lipsy Galm Perfume // Dr Bronner Liquid Soap // Narciso Rodriguez For Her Pefume // Colour Club Nail Polishes // Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm.

This month Birchbox teamed up with Lulu Guinness and I'm loving the box design although it is only a cardboard sleeve. I'm also happy to see that the products are still being included in a drawstring pouch instead of tissue paper like they were in the January box.
Benefit Stay Don't Stray // I've wanted to try this eyeshadow/concealer primer since it was released but haven't wanted to pay the full price. Now I get to try a mini tube of it! I haven't given it a proper longevity testing yet but from looking at quick swatch on my hand, it's slightly too orange for my skin tone. I have very fair skin so even though this is the light/medium version, I did have a feeling it wouldn't be right for me. Saying that though it's something that you wear under eye shadow and concealer so I should still be able to use it, just pleased I didn't pay full price for it.
Dr Brant Pores No More // This is another primer but one that works to minimise the look of pores. Everything from how the primer looks to how it applies and feels on the skin reminds me of Benefits Porefessional which I really like.
Aroma Works Serenity Body Oil // Over the past few months I've become a huge fan of body oils so looking forward to trying this one out. It smells really nice as well, a bit citrusy.
Molton Brown Rhubarb & Rose Replenishing Hand Cream // This smells amazing and will be going straight into my bag.
English Laundry No. 7 For Her // I've tried an English Laundry perfume before and really liked it. This one is a blend of pear, jasmine, gardenia, vanilla and sandalwood and smells really nice.
As a little extra a stick of mint rock is included!

How could I write a February favourites post without talking about the Nars Narcissist Palette?! The eyeshadow palette that is probably featured in everyones favourite posts this month! My favourite shade of the moment is Ashes To Ashes, a perfect wash of colour all over the lid when needing to rush out the door, it's one of the eyeshadows I was thinking about buying before I knew this palette existed. The palette also contains one of my favourite Nars eyeshadows from the All About Eve duo, the first shadow on the top row.
I hate washing make-up brushes but this brush cleanser from Pro Hygiene Collection means I can quickly spot clean brushes and they're dry in a matter of seconds. Also the packaging of this is so much better compared to the Mac brush cleanser as it's a spray bottle.
I haven't been wearing this perfume on an every day basis, instead I've been reaching for the Fresh Fig Perfume from Laura Mercier of a weekend after I've used the bath products from the same range and want the scent to last longer. Although I don't do it often, this makes an amazing room spray! This is your usual fig scent but with notes of vanilla, sandalwood and musk.
I wrote about using the Super Facialist By Una Brennan Rose Hydrate Miracle Makeover Facial Oil in my Sunday Pamper post yesterday but I've been using it a couple of times a week this month as my skin has been really dry. It's definitely improved though and this is down to this product. It's a pre-cleanse oil that is incredibly moisturising and I always notice a difference to my skin after I've used it.
My nail polish pick from this past month has to be Orly's Coachella Dweller which I have also featured in a Sunday Pamper post. This is a bit different from the mint greens I usually gravitate towards but for some reason I've just wanted to wear this dirty pastel green more often.
I'm not a huge jewelry wearer aside from a dainty necklace. I love how everyone else accessorizes but for some reason I just never seem to be able to pair things together well and get it right. Am I the only one? I'll see instragrams of bracelet and watch combinations that I love or statement necklaces but when I try do it, it just doesn't work. I've been loving midi rings at the moment though and paired with a perfect manicure, you just can't go wrong. I've bought mine from Primark, Forever 21 and River Island.
I think I've found an alternative to By Terrys Baume De Rose! Although only slightly less expensive, Dior's Creme De Rose is the lip balm I've been reach for this month, even over By Terry!

This Basil & Grape candle from Mor was a TKMaxx find for only a couple of pounds. I remembered Fleur raving about the brand so picked up the candle straight away along with a couple of other products. I absolutely love the scent of this and even without lighting the candle, it fills up the whole room. It's a very fruity scent but with a hint of fresh from the basil and I'll be lighting it while reading and having a bath tonight.
I feel like I'm constantly repeating myself with my Sunday Pamper product selections but there's a few products, mainly Laura Mercier Fresh Fig, that I reach for every week. You can see I'm nearly half way through the Fresh Fig Honey Bath and I know, despite the price, that I'll keep on repurchasing it! I love the packaging, the scent and the bubbles it creates. Although I don't think I'll buy the full size, the shower gel has been really nice to use along side the honey bath as it intensifies the scent. I'm not normally a fan of body butters but this one from Laura Mercier is amazing and I would buy the full size to go along with the honey bath. It's extremely moisturising but it doesn't feel heavy on the skin and sinks in straight away.
My skin has been really dry this week so I'm using two old favourites to try and get rid of the dry patches. Before cleansing I'll be using the Super Facialist By Una Brennan Rose Hydrate Miracle Makeover Facial Oil, the product I always reach for when I have dry skin. I love everything about it from the scent to how this makes my skin feel after using it. I've raved about the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask a lot on the blog as it works wonders if you have eczema on your face, which I do. It's incredibly moisturising and the oats in it help to soothe and calm your skin.
I am finally giving my hair a little trim as the ends are horribly dry. I'm still debating if I should have a side fringe again or not as after a year of letting it grow out completely, I don't really have any layers framing my face and it's all one length. I'll probably chicken out of doing it myself though and go to a hair dressers! I'm fine with trimming the lengths of my hair and a fringe that's already there myself but not quite so confident with creating a side fringe from scratch. To moisturise the freshly trimmed ends of my hair I'm going to use the Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment Plus. I'm still on the fence with this product as I love how it makes my hair feel but it doesn't smell nice and is way overpriced for how little product you actually get.
Last but not least is pedicure time! I featured this foot mask from Jessica in a Sunday Pamper a few weeks ago and it's become a firm favourite in my routine. It has an amazing peppermint scent and works really well at moisturising your skin. With the sun shining I picked out a neon coral to paint my nails, Vivid Coral from Pixi.
What products are you using in your Sunday pamper?

Sleepy cat // Currently reading // Lazy weekend clothes // The aftermath of trying to pick an outfit // Finally back to blogging // A finished painted jar // New flowers // Papa Johns.
So I took a little blogging break without really thinking about it but I'm back. I now feel 100% better compared to how I was feeling last weekend and after a long week in work, I am spending the whole weekend doing absolutely nothing. I'm planning on staying in my pj's the whole time and spending tomorrow planning and writing posts for the next few weeks.
This week I've sort of failed with the whole spending ban and have made a couple of online orders. What can I say, when I'm not feeling well I like to do a bit of retail therapy to cheer myself up. I'm still pretty happy with how I'm doing with the spending ban over all, you just have to ignore the couple of things I've bought recently!
How is everyone spending their weekend?
02 March 2014
Todays post isn't a typical Sunday Pamper, instead it's more of the products that I've been reaching for a lot over the weekend. I woke up Friday morning with a horribly sore throat which has now turned into a full on cold. I've lost count of how many boxes of tissues I've gone through and I've caught up on a lot of tv thanks to staying in bed all day. I've just finished making a batch of chocolate chip and fudge cookies to try and make myself feel better!
Liz Earle Eye Bright has really helped to soothe my sore eyes and I've been using it as an eye treatment. Simply pour some onto cotton pads, place on your eyes and relax for ten minutes, it really does work! Another product that isn't technically for when you've got a cold is the Origins Sensory Therapy Peace Of Mind. I usually keep this in my bag and pull it out when I'm feeling stressed or panicky but this works wonders if you've got a blocked nose, your heads feeling stuffy and bunged up. It sort of works a bit like vaporub or those inhaler nose stick things. I just put a little bit on my fingers and try and breathe in the scent through my nose.
With this cold, I've had incredibly dry chapped lips, probably the worst I've had all winter, so I've been using the Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm a lot. It's still expensive for a lip balm but a good alternative to the By Terry version. I didn't like the white packaging when I first bought it but it's definitely growing on me.
Since I've been washing my hands a lot they've become very dry and chapped so a thick hand cream has been an essential. You can see how much I've used Weleda Skin Food and will be rushing out to buy another tube when I finish this one. It's a great multi-purpose balm that I use as a hand cream, on my elbows and even on my face when I have extremely dry skin.
The only real pampering I'll be doing this weekend is painting my nails using Orly's Coachella Dweller, the perfect shade for Spring. You can see my post about it here.
