Korres Fig Shower Gel - I love the scent of this one, it smells just like fresh figs and was a perfect scent for summer. I also love the formula of Korres shower gels and how nice they feel on the skin, not at all drying. I have a couple more of these mini bottles and a million other shower gels to use first, but I would buy this one again, probably next summer or spring.

balance Me Super Toning Body Wash - I really like the formula of balance Me shower gels as they lather up really well but aren't drying. While I liked the scent of this one I prefer the rose version which I already have so I probably wont buy this again.

Burberry Body Perfume - I am so sad to see this perfume empty! It's my favourite at the moment and the one I get the most compliments and what perfume are you wearing questions when wearing it. I want to finish at least another full size perfume before I buy this again. I don't like to have too many perfumes at one time as they do go off.

NOTD: Essie Go Ginza

Image
Supplies used...
Orly Bonder Base Coat
Essie Go Ginza // two coats
Nubar Diamont Top Coat

If you look at my nail polish collection you'll see a lot of these pastel pinks with a hint of purple. It's the hint of colour without being too in your face that I love. Essie does these shades of nail so well and Go Ginza is no exception.

Go Ginza was from the Spring 2013 collection which I managed to grab for £1.99 from Fragrance Direct. Although not available at the moment they have just added other polishes to the site.

Despite leaving each layer to dry for 10 minutes while I watched Bates Motel there was still some bubbling. I'm putting this down to the base coat and not the Essie polish. Application was great especially with the wide diffusion brush and the second coat evened everything out nicely.

Project Sample Use Up 010

Calvin Klein Euphoria Perfume - I actually really liked this perfume but would never have thought to try it had it not been in a magazine. I really want to try and finish a couple more full size perfumes before I buy a new one but I'll be keeping a note of this one.
Balm Balm Relax Bath & Shower Oil - I was surprised to find that you can only buy this size and a larger one isn't available. It's £6 for 5ml which is expensive when you can only get two uses out of it. I did like it though as it was a lot more moisturising than the Espa bath oils but I wont be buying another one.

Doublebase Emollient Bath Additive x2 - Although this bath additive worked well, it wasn't as moisturising as the Oilatum version so I wouldn't buy the full size.

Dermol 600 Bath Emollient - I quite liked this version but again, it isn't as good as Oilatum which I'll probably buy a bottle of at some point.

balance Me Rose Otto Body Wash - I love the rose scent of this shower gel and th…

Beauty Box: Birchbox October 2013

Image
KMS California Curl Up Wave Foam // UltraDEX Wire Free Interdental Brushes // Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser in Nude // The Balm Stainiac Lip And Cheek Stain // Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm For Lips // Akane Mask Cocoon Nocturne // Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream.
This months Birchbox is a bit of a mixed one for me. There's a couple of let downs, mainly the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser which despite being the second lightest shade, it's still way too orange for me. Another disappointing product is the Dr Lipp lip balm which I've already tried and wasn't a fan of. Since I haven't opened these two I'm going to put them in my giveaway box as I know someone else would like them. Also the tooth brushes, sure I'll use them but in a beauty box? I would have preferred a perfume sample.

The lip and cheek stain from The Balm is a bit of a ok product as it's exactly the same as Benefit's Benetint which I already have. Would have been great otherw…

NOTD: Models Own Grace Green

Image
Supplies used...
CND Stickey Base Coat
Models Own Grace Green // two coats
Nails Inc Caviar Top Coat

Models Own Grace Green is one of my favourite polishes, I love the colour and the formula is great. Since I've had my bottle for a long time it's slightly thickened in formula which means I can actually get away with only one coat of polish if I'm careful when applying it. I still like to apply two coats though as I find it lasts better on my nails.

Grace Green is meant to be a dupe for Chanel Khaki Vert and from looking at photos online it looks like a pretty good one. If you want to save some pennies and get a better formula pick the Models Own version!

Running On Empty

Image
There's a downside to being on a Project Use Everything Up and not allowing myself to buy products until I've finished everything. It's when three of your favourites are nearly empty! I do have a couple of back ups of Bioderma so technically I don't have to buy any yet but it's going to be tough to not buy the other two. This Works Perfect Heels Rescue Balm and First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream have both become staples that I use on an every day basis.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Winter Funderland Nail Polish Strips

Image
Despite not getting on very well with the first Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips that I tried, I've really enjoyed trying the other patterns I got at the same time. I think that first packet must have just been a dud as I haven't had any problems since. Also please ignore the Christmas jumper I'm wearing, It's currently freezing in the house and it's one of my really comfy jumpers!

These strips are really easy to apply; you simply pick the right size for your nails, peel off the back and front and press the strip firmly onto your nail. You then use the nail file to take off the excess. Despite having very small nails I easily found matches. Unlike the last set I tried, I didn't need to apply a top coat as this particular pattern was very glossy. I had these strips on for about five days but the only reason I took them off then was because I was a bit bored with the pattern and not because of the wear or chipping. Removal was very easy as well, I just used the B…

Sunday Pamper 008

Image
I'm currently wearing pj's that say "Do not disturb ... having a duvet day" which is what I've been doing all of today. I've caught up on tv, napped on the sofa and ate some really good food. After I've helped take everything out of our dining room and kitchen, since it's getting painted this week, I'm going to have a good pamper session while watching even more tv.

Once again, my skin has been driving me crazy this week with a mixture of spots and horrendous dry patches. To combat the spots I'll be using a mixture of two masks which always make a huge difference to my skin. On my chin I'll use the Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque and on my t-zone the Aesop Chamomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque. Both of these are very clarifying masks but they don't dry the skin out which is perfect for me at the moment. I apply a thin-ish layer and leave both on for about 10-15 minutes or until they have both dried and use a Liz Earle sponge t…

An Unintentional Colour Scheme

Deep Sleep Comforting Milk Bath Float // Coconut Body Butter // Spa Wisdom Africa Honey & Beeswax Hand And Foot Balm // Almond Conditioning Hand Wash // Honey Bronzing Powder // Almond Hand & Nail Cream.
I know I've just posted about putting myself on a spending ban but this order was made last week before I started it. I'm going to blame Leanne for this as she posted about a 50% off code for The Body Shop.

The whole reason for this order was to finally get my hands on the Honey Bronzing Powder which was sold out last time I made an order. With the discount, the bronzer came to £6.50 which is such a bargain although I did add a couple of other products to my basket so money wise it wasn't really such a bargain.

Another product that was sold out last time was the Coconut Body Butter which is perfect for winter skin or to keep feet hydrated. The other four products I haven't heard anything about but thought they sounded interesting.

Skin Care Diary: September 2013

Image
Through out each month I'll be keeping a skin care diary and jotting down what I use on an every day basis. At the end of the month I'll tally up what has been used the most and share the products with you.

This month, skin care wise, has been exhausting. I think I completely jinxed myself at the start of the month when it came to my eczema. I said to my mum that finally, after about three years, I didn't have a patch of eczema on my scalp and that the eczema on the rest of my body was actually calming down and decreasing. The next day the eczema on my scalp, face and all over my body flared up, badly. It continued to get worse through out the month as well.

It has been driving me crazy for the whole month and despite a crazy amount of products aimed at calming eczema, nothing was helping. I had flaky dry patches all over my face which were irritated and red. It got to the point where I was using a face oil combined with a heavy duty moisturiser on an every day basis whic…

Avene Micellar Lotion - After taking part in the Esecntual Micellar Blind Trial I bought a couple of the micellar waters so I could try them out a bit more. I was only able to try them once or twice in the trial because of the sample size. I enjoyed using this one from Avene and it worked well at taking off my day to day eye make-up but it struggled to take off eye liner. I won't be buying another bottle as it doesn't beat Bioderma.

L'Oreal Micelar Water - This micellar water takes second place for me out of all the different ones I've tried. It's the best match I've found so far to Bioderma and for a fraction of the price. It doesn't have a scent, takes off every scrap of make-up and doesn't irritate my eyes. I will be buying another bottle at some point but I have others I need to finish first. A must try if you haven't already done so.

Pommade Divine Hand Cream - I featured this in my disappointing products post and I'm so glad I've finally…
