Beauty Favourites: June 2013
June for me has been all about rediscovering old favourites as well as a couple newer products that I've been using a lot.
First up is a Sally Hansen duo that I've been using every time I have painted my nails this month. It's the Insta-Grip Fast Dry Base Coat and the Advanced Hard As Nails Top Coat. These two just work so well together and my nail polish lasts much longer than normal. I'm not even sure if you can still buy the base coat as I've had a hard time finding it online.
I got a sample of the newest Wonderstruck perfume by Taylor Swift in a feel unique order and I knew as soon as I smelt it that I would be buying the full size. I loved the first one but Enchanted Wonderstruck is even better. The notes are peony, white freesia, berries, passion fruit, poppy, musk, vanilla and blond woods. Although this doesn't last a very long time, I seem to be getting a lot of compliments and "what perfume are you wearing" questions.
I used and finished The Body Shop's Hemp Hand Protector years ago and have only just now got round to buying another tube. Only a tiny amount is need and your hands are left feeling incredibly smooth and soft and any dry patches completely vanish. It also works wonders on your feet.
For some unknown reason I stopped using Mac Creme Cup lipstick. While sorting through my make-up I rediscovered it and I've been using it every day since. Patted into the lips it looks like your not wearing anything and your lips are naturally a gorgeous colour. For on the go I've been reaching the stick version of Nuxe Reve De Miel as it's much easier to apply and more hygienic. It's only slightly less effective than the jar version which is fine for me during the day.
I bought a new tub of Liz Earle Skin Repair moisturiser last year when I was in London but soft of forgot about it and started using other creams. After finishing said creams I thought it was about time to use the Liz Earle up and I'd forgotten how good it is. I was originally using the lighter version but this one is for dry and sensitive skin. It can feel a bit heavy on the skin so I use it as part of my night time routine and has really helped with any dry patches I have. It also works really well with a couple of drops of oil to boost the moisture levels even more.
For eyes this month I've been using the Mac Paint Pot in Bare Study as my base which is another rediscovery. I finished my Urban Decay Primer Potion so I've been using this instead. It's a light champagne colour so creates the perfect base for neutral shadows. I've then been lining my bottom water line with the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Liner in Nude to help brighten my eyes and makes me look more awake which I've definitely needed this month.
