Favourites: March 2013

This month though I've tried some new products from my skin care stash which I'm excited about and have started to use some old favourites again. It's definitely been all about skin care for me this month.

My skin has gone a bit crazy and has definitely changed this month. The eczema on my face has completely disappeared but I also had a bad allergic reaction to a product which I stopped using immediately but still left my skin very red, irritated and spotty. Instead of switching up the products I use on a daily basis I decided to pick out a few products and stick with them. My skin has improved already and I've only been using them a month so I have high hopes for them all.

Korres Guava Shower Gel - Not much to say about this one, I just been using it a lot and loving it. It has an amazing guava scent with a hint of coconut and it's very moisturising.

Mario Badescu Cream Soap - In my February Empties post I talked about how I wasn't getting on with Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish or any of the other cleansers I have. I wanted something that frothed up a bit but was still creamy and moisturising. I had a sample of Cream Soap in the back of my cupboard from a Beauty Bay order and decided to try it out after loving another product from Mario Badescu. This ticks all the boxes for me and I've been very impressed with it. I love it so much I have ordered the full size. It's also a pretty good price, just under £10 I think.

Illamasqua Nail Polishes In Freckle & Mottle - I haven't worn nail polish much this month but when I have I've reached for these two. They're the perfect spring colours and I love the glitter in them, makes them more interesting than your standard pastels.

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum - I loved this when I first time a sample of it and bought the full sized bottle straight away. For some reason though I stopped using it until this month. This is one of the products that has made a huge difference in my skin. It hydrates my skin and I don't wake up with dry patches anymore. I apply it at night, underneath my moisturiser and I love how quickly it sinks in and how it makes my skin feel. The scent is lovely as well.

Alpha H Absolute Eye Complex - This is another sample that I got in a order from Beauty Bay. Ticking the £1.50 Premier Service option really does pay off as I've found a lot of great products through this that I wouldn't normally have tried. I started using this as Anna (ViviannaDoesMakeup) raved about it and I wasn't happy with the eye cream I was using. This is a gel which I find works the best with my skin. It doesn't cause those little spots underneath the eyes either. It's very gentle but very effective and I think I'll be buying the full size when I run out.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo - I've had this little sample for such a long time but never thought it would work for my skin. If it hadn't been for everyone raving about it at the moment I would have tried it. This has become my go to moisturiser and it has helped to make a huge difference in how my skin looks and feels. It moisturisers but isn't heavy and doesn't block my pores. My skin is very dry but I can get spots very easily so it's a hard balance to get right but this cream works wonders at doing so.

Mario Badescu Control Cream - This cream is a miracle worker! The eczema on my face that I've had for months has completely gone because of this product. I've written a full review on it but if you have any bits of eczema, no matter what you use to get rid of it, it just isn't going away then you need to try this.
