Empties: March 2013

This month I've managed to use up a crazy amount of products! A lot of these where half finished so I made an effort to actually finish them instead of starting a brand new product. I think next months Empties post will be very small as I've just started a lot of new products as replacements for these.

Ahava Eye Make-up Remover* - I really enjoyed using this eye make-up remover but comparing it do Bioderm, which is what I'm currently using, it just doesn't compare. You have to shake this up to mix the oil and it's great at removing stubborn mascara but I wouldn't repurchase.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish - I managed to finish a tube of this last month as well! When I was sorting through my bathroom cupboard at the start of the month I picked this up and it felt very light so I started using it in an attempt to finish it. It only had 3 uses left in it so it didn't last long. I still have a couple of tubes left so I don't need to repurchase but I'm actually using something else at the moment which I'm loving.

Elemis Frangipani Monoi Shower Cream - When I first smelt this I wasn't sure if I could use it. It's a very strong floral scent which I really didn't like. I used it though as I love the creamy and moisturising formula and I actually enjoyed doing so! The scent becomes more subtle and nicer when you use it. I wouldn't buy this particular scent again but I will have to see what other shower creams they sell.

NSpa Jojoba & White Musk Shower Mousse - I loved the scent but wasn't so fussed on the actually product. I think I'll stick to the normal type of shower gel they sell which is one of my favourites.

Lush Twilight Shower Gel - Even though I have a couple of large bottles of this shower gel left, I was sad to finish this mini bottle. Why they made this shower gel limited edition I have no idea! I love the lavender and malt scent and the shower gel itself is lovely.

Benefit Facial Emulsion - I wasn't a fan of this moisturiser and I didn't end up using it on my face. Instead I used it as a body moisturiser which worked well but I wouldn't buy again. I'm keeping the cute bottle though!

Benefit Toning Lotion - I wasn't a fan of this either! I've liked the other bits from the Benefit Skin Care line but this just doesn't do anything to the skin. I won't be buying this again.

Espa Soothing Bath Oil* - I loved this bath oil and I'm just glad I still have a few more bottles left. It smells amazing and is very moisturising. I think I got about 5 or 6 baths out of it. I'll probably buy a full size bottle once I've finished all the mini bottles.

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic* - I really like this toner and tend to use it when my skin is feeling irritated as it's very soothing. I have a spray bottle version of it which I prefer as I find it wastes less product that pouring it onto a cotton pad. I don't need to buy a new bottle just yet as I have the full size still.

Liz Earle Orange Flower Hand Soap* - I've raved about this hand soap so many times on my blog! It smells amazing and just feels very luxurious when you use it. I wont be buying another one just yet but I will as a treat some time.

Liz Earle Shampoo & Conditioner - I love Liz Earle's shampoo as it doesn't irritate my eczema prone scalp and it doesn't dry my hair out. I think I've been through 3 or 4 bottles of it so far. I'm loving the Ojon shampoo I'm using at the moment but I'm sure I'll buy another bottle at some point. I like the conditioner but I don't love it. I prefer the treatment conditioner that Liz Earle has.

Bumble & Bumble Super Rich Conditioner - I really enjoyed using this conditioner, it left my hair feeling amazing but I found it so hard to get out the bottle. I'm not sure if this is because it's the mini version but it was impossible to get out. I ended up have to take the lid off and banging it against the bath and even then only a small about came out. This and the price has put me off buying the full size.

Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream - This came in my March Birchbox and I fell in love with it immediately  I finished off the sample before I even got a chance to photograph and blog about the box contents. I have used my Birchbox points and have bought the full size which arrived yesterday. If you have very dry skin then you need to try this.

I had a little clear out of my nail polishes and got rid of the ones that were empty or couldn't be saved with polish thinner. The two I'll be buying again are Essie Matte About You and Revlon Minted. I would love to buy Models Own Misty Grey but they have discontinued it which I can't believe as it's one of my favourite polishes. The rest I'm not so bothered about and don't think I'll buy again.

Rahua Shampoo & Conditioner - I've had these samples for ages and finally used them up. I actually had a bad reaction to the shampoo even though I've used it before. It made my scalp very dry, flaky and itchy so I wont be buying the full size. I wasn't impressed with the conditioner either.

Fresh Graprefruit perfume - I liked the scent but not enough to think about buying the perfume.

Lush Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly - I'm really not a fan of the shower jellies from Lush. They smell amazing but I find them too fussy to use and I prefer a simple shower gel.

  1. Impressing! I am on a P50P and managed to finish 30 products so far. :-)

  2. Wow, great empties! I only had a mini bottle of Twilight and I've used it all up! I wish I had gotten more of that and of Ponche!

  3. I feel the same about the shower jellies, wish LUSH would make Sweetie Pie into a normal shower gel because I love the scent of it so much x

Evelyn @ We Were Raised By Wolves

  4. I wanted misty grey but I'm going for illamasqua dws

  5. Great work! I am so glad to have had the chance to try Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and the toner, both work amazingly well on my eczema-prone skin, I almost could not believe it!

  6. Hey hey :) Glad I found your blog, been enjoying having a little read. I really want to try Liz Earle products, especially the shampoo and conditioner. Looking forward to following more :)

  7. Love anything by elemis but that is one of my favourite creams in the entire world :) Pity it's so expensive :(

  8. The Espa soothing bath oil sounds so lovely and I've been eyeing up the Revlon mint polish recently, looks like the perfect colour for spring/summer! x
