Shadow Box

This little shadow box was another unwanted find from my mums art studios and it's found it's home among my books. I think the box is the Ikea Bas although I couldn't find it on their website so I'm guessing it's been discontinued. Such a shame as I want to buy a couple more.
The inside and glass had already been painted white and then partly scratched off which is such a good idea I wish I'd thought of it. The photo I put inside, one I took at the top of the Anglican cathedral in Liverpool, was only temporary to see what a photo would look like. It's now staying in place as I love how the sunset colours look against the painted glass.
I just need to paint the outside frame so it matches the rest of the white paint which will be a pretty quick job one evening.
I really like this! Why don´t you try to paint the frame black? It will be a contrast to the photo, like a highlighting to it, and I think it´s going to be really beautiful! :D
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going for white first but can always paint over it at a later date :) xx
