La Roche-Posay Lipikar Baume AP

Two samples of La Roche-Posay's Likikar Baume AP were included in the Try Before You Buy bag from Escentual that I bought last year. They don't sell this one anymore and the selection they have at the moment isn't that great but keep an eye out. I'm sure they'll add some more brands soon.

The bag containing 32 samples of 16 products was £10 but then you got a £10 voucher so you could buy a full sized product making it a bargain. Even if you didn't find a product that you wanted to use the voucher on, I still think it's a really good price to just sample products available from La Roche-Posay. I haven't used any of their products before as I just didn't know what would work for my skin so by trying out the samples I've got a better idea.

The Lipikar Baume was one of the first samples I tried as it was recommended by Fee's boyfriend in her post about the offer. I went through the tiny tube so quickly I knew this was what I was going to spend my £10 voucher on. I made myself save the second tube so I have something to either keep in my bag or save for my next holiday.

Lipikar Baume AP is a lipid-replenishing body balm which is anti-irritation and anti-scratching. It's also quickly absorbed and fragrance free. Now I don't know about the lipid-replenishing part and even what that really does, all I know is that this stuff works.

If you have really dry skin, suffer from eczema or irritated skin you should really give this a go. It's not going to completely get rid of your eczema but it's going to make a huge difference in how your skin feels.

Given it's name, it's thicker than a normal moisturiser but sinks in just as easily and lasts longer. As soon as my skin feels a tiny bit itchy I apply a layer and it goes away. On the website it says to use once a day but I've used it a couple times a day if my skin's bad and it's been fine. It also keeps your skin hydrated throughout the day which really helps to get rid of eczema.

As you only need a small amount, even if applying all over the body, this 200ml tube is going to last a long time. It has so far anyway, I've been using it for about 6 months now and I'm about half way through I think. Maybe even a bit less.

I haven't tried it on my face yet but haven't read anywhere that says you can't. If you've used it, let me know how you've gotten on!

Overall, really impressed and I can see myself buying a lot of tubes of it. And for only around £10 it's a bargain in my opinion! I've spent so much money on prescriptions to try and treat my eczema and to finally find an alternative is great. I still use a steroid cream if a flare up is bad but I always use this first.

The next product on my list to try is the Rosaliac Micellar Make-Up Removal Gel. If you've tried it, let me know as well.
