OPI Glow Up Already! - NOTD

OPI glow up already nail polish notd 02 OPI glow up already nail polish notd 03 OPI glow up already nail polish notd 01

Glow Up Already from the 2010 Holiday Burlesque collection is mainly a light green glitter in a clear base. But it's also packed full of red, fuchsia and blue glitter. In some lights the gold glitter can look gold which you can see in the last photo.
This took 3 layers to be opaque, I could have gotten away with 2 if I wasn't taking a photo of it.

September Favourites

Actually posting this months favourites on time! Haven't done this for months!
september 2011 favourites Soap & Glory Glam-A-Lot body spray - A renewed favourite as I haven't used this perfume for a few months since buying others. It's a scent I still love though and will have to buy a new one soon. Despite it being a body spray I find it lasts a really long time and is much stronger.

Accezzorize Eyeshadow Duo in Maia - I don't normally go for coloured eyeshadow but the green side in this duo is really nice. It's more of an olive green and the gold side is the perfect highlight or all over lid colour. This is the only eyeshadow I've been using this month.

Models Own Lip Balm in Blackberry - To get into the Autumnal spirit I've been using this lip balm which has an amazing scent. Just like the cupcake dolls I had when I was younger. It's a really nice subtle colour that looks more like a stain. It's also a really great lip balm. I can't recommend these enough! The more pigmented ones are great as an alternative for lipstick.

Mac Paints in Bare Canvas - I ordered this ages ago and when it arrived I wished I hadn't bought it. I've been making an effort to use it this month and in fact I really like it. It creates a blank matte base which none of my other eye primers do. A little goes a long way so this tube is going to last ages. I no longer regret buying it and have reached for it more than my UDPP.

Illamasqua Lip Gloss in Lily-Rose - This was my first Illamasqua purchase and I love the name. When I haven't been using the Models Own lip balm I've been reaching for this. It's a gorgeous bright pink that also looks more like a stain. It wears really well too.

Liz Earle Skin Tint in Bare - Although I didn't include this in last months favourites I've still been loving this skin tint. You can read my full review here.

Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki - I still apply the skin tint with my fingers but I've been buffing and blending it in with this brush from Sigma. I love it, it's so soft and makes applying make-up a dream. I really want to get some more brushes from sigma.

Pamper Day

Inspired by Vivianna's weekend pamper post I thought I'd write my own post about my pamper day yesterday.   It was a much needed treat as my skin and hair have been really dry recently and my nail polish was badly chipped.

Started my day with a nice long bubble bath using Original Source Lavender & Tea Tree shower. This smells amazing and is incredibly relaxing! I also started reading Masquerade, the second book in the Blue Blood series. Only read a few chapters but hope it's as good as the first. Really could have done with a Lush bubble bar or bath melt but I haven't got any at the moment. Waiting for some new products to come out then I'll make an order.

After the bath I popped on a layer of Lush Dream Cream. My eczema on my legs has been quite bad recently. It always seem to flare up with weather change and it's definitely gotten colder recently. We even had to put our central heating on for the first time the other day. Then to any super dry areas I applied Weleda Skin Food*, I'll be writing a more in depth post about this soon!

Then it was time to tackle my extremely dry head of hair! I mixed together Liz Earle Conditioner* and Macadamia Oil to create a deep treatment, applied to hair and left on for 30 mins.

While my hair mask was on I used Liz Earle Eye Bright as a 10 min treatment for my eyes. This is perfect if your eyes are feeling tried, sore or dry. Especially good if you suffer from hey fever! You simply pore some onto two cotton pads and leave on your eyes.

Once the 30mins are up I shampoo and condition as normal and wrap my hair in a towel. After 15-30mins I apply my chosen hair product to style. Today I went with the Macadamia Oil again applying evenly to my hair and avoiding my roots. As I've only used this two times I'm not really sure how I feel. It's thicker than V05's so I feel like I'm using a lot more of it.

Sometimes from washing my hair my hands can feel really dry and sore, another bonus of having eczema! To combat this I apply a lot of L'Occitane dry skin hand cream. This cream is amazing, it's really thick but soaks in seamlessly. There is no greasy feeling left afterwards, only your skin feeling incredible. I don't like the smell of this one, think I'm going to try a few others and find a better scent.

Once my hand cream had soaked in I applied my chosen nail polish. I went with H&M Looks Great On You, you can see a NOTD here.

There we have it! My pamper day products, sometimes they change or I add in a few others but these are what I used yesterday. I love to have these days and just sit and watch films! Definitely my way of relaxing.

Week In Photos 053

week in photos 053 02 week in photos 053 01

001 Read Fee's post on the sample set from La Rosche Posay and ordered it immediately. Such a good deal and a brand I haven't tried before. It's £10 for 32 samples (16 different products) and you get a £10 voucher to spend on a full sized product. I've only used a couple so far so not sure what I'm going to be spending my voucher on just yet. Unfortunately it looks like they've stopped the offer but they have similar sets from other brands.

002 Changed my layout/design of my blog Thursday night which somehow got my blog deleted/marked as spam by blogger. Devastated was a bit of an understatement. I've written this blog for over two years now and to loose it all in a second is crazy. Luckily and I still have no idea how, I have it back. And hopefully for good.  I really liked the simpleness of my last layout but there was just something I wasn't sure about. I love my new layout now though and looks how I imagined in my head. Just need to alter my favicon now so it matches.

003 Bit of a slow week with nothing really photo worthy happening. Hoping next week will be better!

Boudoir Prive September Box

It was definitnely worth the wait and I haven't tried any of the brands before.
Mai Couture Blot & Bronze - I really like blotting sheets but not so sure having a bronze powder on it would really work. I just imagine it'll be really patchy, going to give it a go though.

Zoya Neeka nail polish - I was really hoping we'd get a Zoya nail polish in this months box. I'm definitely a nail polish junkie and I love this colour. It's one that I would have picked out if I had a choice of colours. I love that you get the nail swatches of the rest of the collection too, there's a couple others that I'd like.

Tropic Body Smooth - This smells great! Not 100% sure what it's meant to do. On the leaflet it sounds like a hand scrub but I'm not sure if it's meant for the body. Will be looking on the website for more info but I'm intrigued.

Cargo Boogie Night eyeliner in blue - This looks like a gorgeous liner but not sure how much use it'll get. I'm not a huge fan of coloured eyeliner but I love the silver sparkle.

Colbert Eye Cream - I'm giving this £90 eye cream to my mum!

Macadamia Hair Oil - This was another one I really wanted to try! I love hair oils, especially the V05 one. Will probably do a review on this one once I've used it for a while.

Agent Provocateur L'argent perfume - I haven't tried this yet as my hey fevers really bad today so I can't smell to well. Going to wait till another day.

Overall I'm really impressed! In my opinion both boxes have been really great and have all introduced me to new brands which is what I wanted in the first place. There is also a 1/2 price code for next months box which is 1box12 which is valid until Sunday.

Models Own Blue Moon - NOTD

models own blue moon nail polish notd

I've already posted a NOTD using Blue Moon but that was combined with 2 other colours. Thought I'd photograph it on it's own. As I've said before, I don't normally go for or like blue nail polishes but this is one of the exceptions. The formula is great to, being opaque in two coats. I find this one last a really long time on me too.

Living Nature Concealer

mypure living nature concealer light 03 mypure living nature concealer light 02 I really like the packaging of Living Nature's concealer*, reminds me of Mac's Select Cover Up. The tube means it's incredibly easy to get the right amount of product out and nothing is wasted. I really don't like concealers with doe foot applicators so glad this one doesn't have one. I also love it says "smile" when you open the box.
mypure living nature concealer light 01 As for shades, there are only three. As I have really pale skin I went for Light. This is way too orange for me and I wouldn't class it as light. The colour is almost exactly like George Under Eye Concealer in medium. Having only three shades is definitively not enough of a colour range and probably wont cater for those with darker skin tones either.
living nature concealer light swatch As for actually concealing I quite like it. It's really creamy which means it's great for under the eyes as well as spots or discoloration but it's light at the same time. It isn't a heavy duty concealer, more like your average concealer. You only need a tiny amount so this tube will last a long time.

This concealer costs £13.99 which I think is a bit too expensive considering you only get 7ml of product and limited shades. If there was a better colour range I might change my mind on the price.

You can read more about it and buy it from Mypure.com

Barry M Navy & OPI Last Friday Night, Layered - NOTD

I have layered Barry M's Navy which is a navy polish with electric blue shimmer (NOTD here) and OPI's Last Friday Night which is a blue jelly packed full of different shades (& sizes) of blue glitter. You can see Last Friday Night on it's own here. There's a good bottle photo of LFN on that NOTD, I wasn't able to take one for this post as I've nearly finished the bottle.

This is one coat of each before I've put my topcoat on. It makes such a difference to LFN when it's layered over a darker colour. The light blue glitter stands out so much more! I've found blue and black work best although it looks good on a lot of other colours.

Used strawberries, physalis (pictured), grapes and cherries. Definitely one of my favourite things to make and eat!

002 Read the latest Sookie Stackhouse book at the beginning of the week and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. It seemed like the whole book was rushed. Hoping the next one will be better but don't want to have to wait a year to read it!

003 Also read Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz. It's a easy and quick read, the perfect holiday book. I finished it in two days. It's another book about vampires but it's different from Twilight or True Blood. I also like that it's a series, hate it when a book finishes but you want to know/read more. I've ordered the next couple from the series to read as well.

004 Now reading Marked, the first book in the A House Of Night series. And yes, another Vampire book! I got 3 vampire books from different authors in a set last Christmas but have only just got round to reading them. Once again, a completely different take on vampires. Almost like a vampire version of Hogwarts! I'm half way through and I really like it so far. As you can see I'm a bit of a book geek but I go through phases of reading and not reading. Definitely obsessed with reading at the moment! Lucky as I have so many unread books!

005 Today was the yearly Hope Street Feast here in Liverpool! The weather was perfect, with only one spell of rain, the street was full and busy. I'm currently eating some fudge and had a homemade banoffee ice cream while I was there. This was actually my first time going, not sure why I hadn't been the years before?!

What have you been up to this week?

Products I've Finished 005

products I've finished 05

Andrew Barton S.O.S Help Me! deep conditioner - I've been using this for probably about 3 or 4 years and have been through countless tubs. My mum loves it too. Asda currently have the Andrew Barton range on offer, 2 for £6. Most products are about £4 so you're basically getting one for half price!

Lush Shower Jellies - I've actually finished two of these even though only one empty box is pictured. I'm really not a fan of the jellies. I don't like fussy products and these definitely are. It's a shame though as I love the scents. The two I finished were sweetie pie and strawberry santa.

Lynx Fever Shower Gel - Bought this ages ago on a recommendation from Laura (BlogNowBuyLater) but only got round to using it recently and loved it. The scent is amazing. It has tiny beads in it which is fine enough to be used daily, these are left in the bath after the water has drained though which is a bit of a pain.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap - This has been in one of my previous "Products I've Finished" and I still don't really like it.

Liz Earle Shampoo - You can read the mother and daughter review we both did for the shampoo and conditioner here. This tube has lasted a surprising amount of time, you only need a little bit of product which is great as it means you get more for your money.

Original Source Golden Pineapple Shower Gel - This shower gel featured in my August Favourites and will probably feature in my top 2011 products. Need to buy some more before they stop selling it. Wish it was a permanent one though, it smells amazing.

What was the last product you finished?

Eyeko Lilac Polish - NOTD

notd eyeko lilac nail polish

I love purple nail polish, especially shades like this and OPI's Do You Lilac It? I don't seem to wear them that much though. They're not unusual or unique shades but I think they just work well with my skin tone.

Lilac polish did take 3 thin coats to become opaque. I could have got away with 2 but thought it would look better in the photo with another one.

Interior Inspiration 001

I can't wait to have my own place to decorate it to my own tastes. Just having one bedroom as my own space isn't enough! I'm not one for much colour, I like detail. This comes across in what I wear too. Here's just some of the photos I've got saved on my computer from tumblr.

I love light blue walls, white furniture with hints of black and grey, photo frames covering the walls full of art and memories, books on display and bunting. I already have a box for when I do get a place of my own and I love buying little things to fill it.
