In the summertime when the weather is hot 003

Week In Photos 020

001 On Tuesday I went to a little gallery to see some textile work. Apart from the miserable weather it was a nice little day out, chocolate cake in a cafe later, perfect. 002 I loved the origami birds made out of maps. There were hundreds of them hanging from the ceiling! 003 I’ve decided to use a piece of white paper as the background for any photos I take of products. I want my blog to have more continuity to it and the continual change in backgrounds was really annoying me. I just need the lack of sunlight to improve!004 Also this week I’ve been helping my mum sort out boxes of wools for the Embroiderers Guild. Each wool had to be matched to the correct name and then put away properly. Seems like a boring job but I actually had fun doing it and picking out the different wools. I’ve got the best eye sight in our house so any hard ones were passed on to me.005 Last night I took my tripod and camera out to try and get some good photos of lights from the traffic but it was a bit of fa…

Models Own S/S 11 & Dirty Works

Today I’ve got a couple of Models Own polishes to show you which are brand new for spring/summer 2011 and to introduce Dirty Works.

l-r: concrete mixer, nyla nude, bloo boo, black swirl, pink fever, orange sherbet and utopia I have three to show you today, one I already owned and then the other two I was sent. I’m definitely buying nyla nude and bloo boo when they come out. I’m thinking pink fever would be perfect for toes but I’ll have to see it in person as it looks like it’ll be totally different in the bottle than on the nail.
l-r: Utopia, Concrete Mixer, Black Swirl I have a NOTD of concrete mixer on Monday so check back then if you want to see what it looks like on the nails.
I haven’t found too much on Dirty works but Charlotte has talked a bit about them here. I was sent the nail clippers and I love the polka dot, adds something nice to what could be a pretty boring tool. Before these I shamefully used the nail clippers I got in cracker one year which are rubbish. These aren’t g…

Soap And Glory The Righteous Butter

For my reviews I’m thinking of adding a rating system which will look something like this:Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥With 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. I really like rating systems as they sort of summarise what you think of the product. Another great product from Soap and Glory which I’m about to run out of and am going to buy the giant tub. The scent is the usual scent like all the other products in the original pink range, it smells amazing. S&G describe it as “bergamot, strawberries and mandarin, with floral and fruity mid notes and musk, amber and warm vanilla notes on the bottom.” This body butter is as heavy or thick as The Body Shops but for me this is an advantage as it doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky or oily. Instead you are left with baby soft skin. The great thing about this product is you can buy a mini tub for only £2.35 to give it a go and see if you like it before buying the larger tub for £10. They’re also great for travelling too or to keep in your handbag…

Models Own Car Key Collection

A little side note – I cannot wait until the summer, or at least until spring, so we can get some proper light! I haven’t been able to take good photos at all this week. I’m not totally happy with this one as it doesn’t show the true colours but I really wanted to get a post up. When I do NOTD’s with these polishes I’ll try and get them as true to life as possible.I’ve wanted these polishes by Models Own ever since they first came out but for some reason I’d forgotten all about them and have only ordered them recently. I used my 25% off from the Models Own Fabulous offer, if you haven’t used yours yet you’ve still got till February 7th to do so.The three polishes are Becca’s Brown, Purple Ash and Grace Green and I love them all. My favourite has to be the green though, I really love dirty colours on my nails as they suit my skin tone the best.I also bought the black nail art pen which I’ve been playing around with and doing leopard nails for the first time. I’m not the best at nail ar…

Week In Photos 019

001 Me and mum made blueberry drop scones last Sunday as well as today. Love them so much topped with mashed banana and a bit of syrup :)002 Only taken one photo this week which really saddens me, means I haven't used my camera at all. I also haven't written any blog posts. Getting used to waking up at 6 every morning has really taken its toll this week and I've got a little cold. Nothing a large class of vitamin c can't fix which I've got ready to drink once I've published this. Hope everyone’s well and had a better week than me!

In the summertime when the weather is hot 002

I seriously could spend hours on Tumblr, here's some photos I've found since the last Summer photos post which will hopefully cheer you up with all this miserable weather we're having.

Week In Photos 018

001 I’ve fallen in love with this hot chocolate and have been drinking so much of it this week. It’s thicker than normal, almost like melted chocolate and reminds me of skiing in Italy and Austria where we drank hot chocolate like this. 002 Oil droplets in the washing up bowl, it looked really interesting so I took a photo!003 My brother moved down to London in October but only took two suitcases and a back pack with him. This weekend my Auntie and Uncle came down to take the rest of the things to him so a lot of organising and moving was going on! 004 I’ve just started a new job as a customer accounts manager in a cleaning company so this week has just been getting used to waking up at 6 o’clock everyday and trying not to fall asleep as soon as I get home.005 The new job is on the other side of Liverpool so I have to get a bus and train each way meaning a lot of reading time. I think I’ve read like 3 or 4 books this week and am currently reading Louis Sachar’s Cardturner. It’s about …
