A long weekend away :)

I won’t be posting anything this weekend as I’m going away to Darwin Forest in Chesterfield for a family get together :) We all go every year, usually for bonfire weekend as there are fireworks and a huge bonfire. This year it’s my aunties 50th so she’s having a party on the Saturday night so no fancy dress for me :( But I think I’m going trick or treating round the cabins with my youngest cousin so that’ll be fun!
There isn’t any internet connection in the cabins nor is there any phone signal so I’ll be MIA on here, tumblr and twitter till Monday.
You can still enter my giveaway but I won’t be able to approve the comments till I get back.
I’m not going till tomorrow afternoon but today and tomorrow is going to be busy! I have to do my washing, pack/get ready to go and bake some cakes to take with us.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Review: Lush The Fabulous Mrs Fox

I am only going to be reviewing the one on the left as I haven’t used the pumpkin one yet. My mum went to Lush to buy her friend a gift box and saw these two bath bombs and bought them for me :) The pumpkin is part of their limited edition Halloween collection a long with ghost shower gel, this Jacko bath bomb is so cute!
Their are a lot more Halloween goodies in the American Lush website which I really want and am really jealous.

The one on the left looks a bit odd but the orange bit is meant to be a foxes foot print like the picture below. I’ve broken it into pieces as it’s a bath melt. I only  use a little bit as the scent is so strong so I should get 4 more baths out of this. so £2.95 for 5 baths isn’t bad!
I break a chunk off and crumble it into running water in my tub, once it starts to melt really light and fluffy bubbles appear. I sometimes switch the shower on to create more bubbles but if you lucky people have a Jacuzzi jet bath you obviously don’t need this! Lush describes the smell as angelica, peppermint and citronella. I can definitely smell a bit of peppermint but the main scent is aniseed. Aniseed is not my favourite smell, I can cope with it while using this one bath melt but I don’t think I will re-purchase. The strong smell does lessen once in the bath and on your skin but smelling the bar itself can be off putting.
Lush has dedicated a whole page of information about banning fox hunting which you can read here. I’m all for the banning of fox hunting so I’m getting a nice treat as well as donating money to this good cause. 100% of the proceeds of this bath melt goes to the Hunt Saboteurs Association.

Review: Botanics super balm

I’ve had this super balm for a few weeks now and have been using it on a regular basis.

What they say:
“Botanics range combines active plant extracts in carefully balanced formulations to give you the right product for your skin type. Botanics Organic Super Balm contains 95% certified Organic ingredients, with a formulation of Argan oil which is perfectly adapted to cope with the harsh conditions of heat and drought of its native Morocco. The oil, rich in polyunsaturates and natural tocopherols (vitamin E), has been the local womens beauty secret for centuries, nourishing and protecting the skin.
Botanics Organic Super Balm  contains plant extracts at levels that really work, combined with Shea Butter which nourishes and conditions the skin.
Botanics Organic Super Balm is richly hydrating and blended for use on areas that really need extra moisture. With argan oil to deeply moisturise and protect, plus shea butter to nourish and condition.”
Over the past few months my skin has changed dramatically. I have never suffered from dry skin on my face before and I classed my skin as combination oily, more at the oily end. At the moment I’d say my skin is at both ends of the spectrum, extremely dry and sensitive all the way to oily. I really hope it goes back to normal, I’d much rather have oily skin than dry!! And that’s saying a lot.
The easy solution to dry skin would be to smother it in a thick cream like E45 but you just can’t do that on skin which is also oily. This is where the super balm fits in ♥  I use my normal light face moisturiser morning and night and then if needed I will use the super balm on any dry patches. It hydrates them straight away and leaves those areas of my skin looking like the rest of my face. The balm may seem to be a little oily straight after you have used it but it soaks in nicely and doesn’t leave a greasy layer.
This little pot costs just under £5 but a little goes a long way so it will last a good while. It’s also small enough to slip in your bag for on the go touch ups.
I still want to try Liz Earle’s super balm to see if its any better than this but that will have to be when I have a job. For now botanics will do me just fine.

Review: Soap and Glory Hand Food & Glam-a-lot body spray

I haven’t posted in a while and since I’m on a make-up buying ban I thought a couple of reviews would be the perfect posts to write :)
Camera1 013 copy
Soap and Glory Glam-a-lot body spray has become one of my favourite perfumes to use during the day. I bought this along with the two other sprays in a gift set, sationalism, for £8. This bottle is smaller than if you where to buy it on its own at only 100ml compared to 250ml for £6. I like the smaller size though, I always get bored of perfumes.
I’m really bad at describing scents so I’m not even going to try. Boots describes it as being “super sexy, warm, rich, racy and veritably voluptuous fragrant body spray with Fresh Flowers layered on a Woody, Vanilla Musk base.” That’s exactly how I would describe it if I was any good :) I love it as a day perfume but for me its not strong enough for night so I’ll use a different one depending on my mood.
The only bad thing I have to say is that the bottle leaks slightly if turned upside down or shaken so I won’t be carrying it around with me in my bad. This is a shame as its the perfect size for your handbag :( so Soap and Glory, make your bottles leak proof!
Onto another favourite of mine, Soap and Glory’s Hand Food. Over the past couple of weeks this hand cream has been my saviour. I don’t usually have dry hands but when I do they can get quite bad. I also find it hard to find a cream that doesn’t leave my hands greasy. I’ve said this in a few posts before but my skin can’t seem to soak in that much cream so once I find a good product I will stick with it forever. This cream is one of them ♥. It soaks in straight away leaving your hands feeling silky smooth.
I have the mini tube of it for £2.50 and contains 50ml but you can get it in a 125ml tube for £4.50. I like this smaller tube as I can throw it in my bag when I’m going out.
Some may not like the smell of this hand cream, it’s Soap and Glory’s infamous sickly sweet smell. I love it though, as long as it’s not on my face I can cope with this strong smell.
I’ve made a Tumblr account :) click here to see it
